The Feast of the Goat is the story of General Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, "The Goat" himself, who subdued the Dominican Republic in a cruel dictatorship from 1930 - 1961. The story is told by Urania, a New York lawyer whose father was part of Trujillo's Ministry and who returns to the Dominican Republic after 35 years; by the band of conspirators who plan his assassination, and through the thoughts of the dictator himself.
The Feast of the Goat received critical acclaim and won the Pen American Center's Nabokov Prize, among others. Vargas-Llosa responded with great enthusiasm, writing to Repertorio Español that "the adaptation by Triana has achieved the difficult task of being faithful to the facts and the spirit of the novel, and is at the same time very theatrical."

Entre marcar los pasos, mantener el ritmo, crear las vueltas y hacerlo todo con una sonrisa, no es fácil de aprender, pero cuando lo logras es un sentido casi orgasmico, lol. La ciudad ofrece varias escuelas de salsa, las cuales también ofrecen un ambiente fenomenal para conocer a personas interesantes con quienes ya tienes algo en común, el amor por la salsa.

La siempre dinámica comediante Dominicana Rossmery Almonte (Boquita), nos presenta su muy divertido KAROAKE EN LA PARRILLA, los Sábados a partir de las 11pm. Su talento cómico se deja sentir la noche entera, y por lo tanto ofrece un ambiente digno de frecuentar. TRIBUTO A MIS GEMELOS
El ataque de Sept. 11, 2001, no tan solo fue a una estructura simbólica en nuestras vidas, sino que también fue un ataque a nuestros corazones, y a nuestro sentido de seguridad. La primera vez que toque tierra Norteamericana, fue una noche fría de Noviembre, y al otro día mi querida madre me llevo a ver a los gemelos, los cuales yo pensé inicialmente que eran algunos primos que yo no conocía, y no fue hasta que ella me explico que eran los edificios mas altos del mundo, que yo entendí a lo que ella se refería. Cuando vi por primera vez tal estructura, pensé que este era el lugar donde estar, porque si aquí lograban hacer edificios que llegaran hasta las nubes, entonces aquí era donde se podía lograr todo. Así que el ataque terrorista de 911 fue algo absolutamente personal para mi. Espero disfruten el tributo que ofrecí esta semana en el programa televisivo, no tan solo a las víctimas de aquel horroroso evento, sino también a esta bendecida tierra y a sus habitantes.
La Parada mas grande de Nueva York
La gran parada "West Indian day parade" es sin duda alguna la mas grande y quizás por tal razón es la ultima parada del verano. El próximo 6 de Septiembre, 2010 desde las 11am, empieza la gozadera en brooklyn. La celebración se extiende a través del Eastern Parkway, desde Utica Ave. hasta el Grand Army Plaza.

Según fuentes oficiales, el Fuerte "OMEGA", ya obtuvo el tan esperado perdón, de la embajada Americana y por lo tanto ya pronto estará de gira, por territorio Americano. YA SI FUE QUE SE ENCENDIO EL AMBIENTE!
MUSICA QUE CREA EL AMBIENTE, EN CUALQUIER MOMENTO.
EL MEGA ARTISTA "CHERITO", esta sin duda alguna ACABANDO! después de demasiados años fuera del ambiente musical, este dinámico exponente de nuestra música, decidió volver a su tierra natal y emprender de nuevo su carrera artística, y de que manera. Justamente en el momento que el Merengue mas necesita este tipo de artista completo, es cuando CHERITO recobra su puesto, como el mayor talento, dentro y fuera de este genero musical caribeño. Aquí les dejo con su nuevo Hit Musical, el cual me parece se convertida en todo un éxito internacional.
El pasado Jueves 15, estuve en una de las mas fabulosas ideas de diversión, que he visto en los últimos tiempos, "SALSA EN EL MEDIO DE LA CALLE" en la 9na. Avenida y la calle 14 (en Manhattan), todos los Jueves se le brinda la oportunidad a todos aquellos que desean aprender el bello baile de la salsa, con clases gratis, desde las 6:30pm hasta las 7:30pm y después de ahí, a bailar se a dicho, hasta las 9:00pm . Completamente al aire libre, este evento el cual estará hasta Agosto 26, es la perfecta excusa para salir de casa. Y lo mejor es que es completamente gratis. Asegurarte de ir con tiempo, puesto que el parqueo es casi imposible, pero a parte de eso, puedo decir que el evento es un éxito rotundo.

ARKA LOUNGE (No juzgue un lugar por su exterior)
Desde hace ya bastante tiempo, que mis amistades mas cercanas me habían mencionado el Arka Lounge, pero quizás porque se veía un tanto pequeño por fuera, y solamente tenia una puerta de entrada, yo nunca podía pensar que el lugar podía ser interesante, pero como dice el dicho “No juzgue un libro, solo por su exterior”, tremenda sorpresa que me lleve cuando hacen ya unas cuantas semanas atras, la bella KAZUMI y un servidor, estuvimos de visita por el arka, en el 4488 Broadway Ave. (Esquina 192) NYC 10040 Y lo siguiente fue lo que encontramos. Según me comentan la sección VIP es lo mas Nuevo que se le a agregado al lugar. Sin duda alguna, le sacaron todo el provecho del mundo al espacio que tienen.
